Craigies Butchery Experience
Discover the craft of traditional butchery in this hands-on 2 hour workshop at Craigie’s Farm. Guided by our expert butcher, you’ll learn how to break down half a lamb (reader on our farm), prepare each cut, and take home everything you butcher - perfect for stocking the freezer or creating delicious meals with true farm-to-fork provenance.
This unique experience includes:
· half a lamb (cuts of your choice) and butchered by yourself with expert guidance
· demonstrations from our master butcher
· opportunity to ask questions, build confidence and learn new skills.
Welcome (10 mins)
- Introductions
- Safety briefing
- Quick overview of where your lamb comes from
Butcher Demonstration (20 - 30 mins)
- Explain each cut and usual retail value
- Highlight respect for the animal & sustainable use
Participant Butchery Time (60 - 90 mins)
- Guests work through the carcass or cuts step-by-step
- Butcher and assistant guiding hands-o
Packaging & Labelling (20 mins)
- Use vacuum sealers or freezer bags
- Label with weight, cut, date
- Provide branded stickers
Closing & Q&A (10 mins)
- Cooking tips
This experience is strictly for adults aged 18 years and over.
No children or anyone under the age of 18 will be permitted to attend or participate.
